It was 2018 and I was 35-years-old when I realised I'm autistic. After doing a Bachelors in Psychology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling, I was still (horrifyingly) ignorant about what autism was. But when my first ever private practice client told me they were autistic, I instantly started studying it and I was so incredibly lucky that my first teacher came in the form of Dr Damian Milton (autistic researcher and psychologist) and I was very quickly consumed by one big 'aha' moment after another.
